What I get from this poem are:

1. When we are young, we are able to question things because we stay curious and we can easily acknowldge our ignorant. Thus we have the tremendous courage to explore, examine, question existing knowledge and authority and make breakthroughs.

2. As we get older and achieve more, we are more inclined to hanging onto our achievements, authority, and it is easy to forget that the more we know the more we do not know. While we think we are becoming more knowledgable and more experienced, we lose that momentum to question status quo or to explore the unknown. Thus we stay farther from wisdom actually. So can we really say we are more intelligent than when we are younger? Not always.

Stupidity and wisdom are relative. As Steven job said, stay curious and stay foolish. A life without examination is not worth living.
