      • they are wonderful, they are unforgetable, yeah, they are parts of Hollywood style, but but but but, as a kind of professional term, the STYLE, seems we need more professional explanation for it
        • What's your definition or explanation of "Hollywood" in professional term?
          • I like klassische old reply to this topic, pretty professional, but you delete it and put on some classic scenes instead, this is where my comments from.
            • 我这不是想搞点只可意会, 不可言传, 给自己弄点诗人气质吗? (#3108362) :)))
              • :))))))))))))))))))
        • i am just a movie fan and will leave the professional definition to the real professionals. :)
      • Hey, brother, what kind of 公式 are you talking about? I got lost.
        • #3106463
      • I myself think that "Tom Hanks transformed himself from a pretty face to a real actor " in Forest Gump, though. :) Meryl Streep is talented indeed, well, compared with Emma Thompson, she seems a tiny little bit ....
Perhaps, I should have not made such comparison which might be unfair, but I am just too much indulged into British stuff and may have lost objectivity in tasting American stuff.
        • I am kind of surprised that you haven't mentioned anything about Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando and Merilyn Monroe. :)
          • 我那纯粹是意识流, 想到什么写什么, 十分钟内还真没想到这几个.
            • Many big names, like Woody Allen, are in Hollywood, parts of Hollywood, but more or less, they are also playing their function as the opposite of Hollywood, such as Marlon Brando, James Dean.
              • even for the blockbuster film companies in Hollywood, they have few sub-companies for so called art house films, these art house films are also the opposite of Hollywood style
                • Yes, Sundance Festival was supposed to be the American film festival for the anti-Hollywood small budget movies, but as it become more famous, it become more Hollywood like too.
                  • My question is: Why do we need to label those, who are different from Hollywood or not Hollywood at all, as Anti-Hollywood? Don't we need Hollywood as if we need both water and air?
                    • you did not get the point, we are talking about the STYLE, nothing to do with love it or hate it, therefore, there is no anti-Hollywood point at all. BTW, I enjoy Hollywood movies as well.
                      • My point is that even in terms of style, Woody is indeed part of Hollywood. Hollywood doesn't necessarily only demonstrate lush and rich colours, but also Woody's. In other words, Woody is one of those
creating Hollywood and making it everlasting.
                    • I guess Hollywood is like the air around us, we cannot live without it, but it is also polluted.
Sometimes we need to get some fresh air, so we go to cottages. But as more and more people go to cottages, air is no longer fresh in cottage country.------瞎忽悠的, 别当真
                      • Definitely. :)
                  • and the main organizers for Sundance Festival are also the big names for Hollywood, such as Robert Redford
                • Shall we say that they are different from Hollywood instead of "opposite"?
